Trestleboard           ASHLER LODGE          February 2009

Greetings from the East,

We are off to a great start; I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish as a Lodge this year. Committees were formed during the January meeting. The Communications, Membership, and Leadership Development committees are in need of a chairman and members. There is still room for you to participate in and plan the future of your lodge. There are a few events which are in need of a Mason to plan, assist or lead in the next year. Your Lodge can only be successful with your active participation. I encourage every member to come to lodge and get your hands on the Rope.

The focuses of the February meeting will be selecting committee chairmen, lodge Finances, and Budget. I would like to hear your input and look forward to seeing you all Thursday, February 19th at 7:30.

Fraternally,

Greetings from the West,

Brethren, the first quarterly street clean-up for 2009 is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st. For those that enjoy a bit of early morning fellowship, we will meet for breakfast at Steve’s at 8 am. Around 9 am we will re-group behind the lodge, grab all our gear, and then head up to 104th for our light morning walk. Gloves, bags, pickers, and safety vests are provided. Be sure to wear your Ashler Jackets so the community will know who’s out there picking up trash. Also be prepared for any weather conditions. We’ve been lucky to have always caught a ‘dry’ or non-raining spell, but street clean up happens rain or shine. Don’t have an Ashler jacket? Please contact me and I would be happy to assist you in acquiring one. I hope to see all the brothers at this event.

The 2009 district calendars are available. They are $5 each with the money going to the District 2 Youth Travel fund.

The Grand Master’s Visit to District 2 will be held March 28th at Edmonds Masonic Center starting at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $15, dress is suits, and ladies are always welcome. See the WM or myself for tickets.

Greetings from the South,

Brethren, in the weeks and months ahead, we want to hear from you about how Masonry is relevant in your lives and what opportunities you would like to see in our lodge to enrich your Masonic experience. We are looking for ideas to help more of our brothers get the most from their membership through the best Masonic experience we can create together. Feel free to contact any officer of the lodge anytime, including myself at 206-353-0134, to share what you like best about Masonry and to share any ideas you have of what you would like to see our lodge do to help make Masonry and Ashler Lodge more relevant for you and the community.
