Trestleboard ASHLER LODGE April 2010
Greetings from the East,
Brethren, thank you for the support you gave to the Bethel #77 bake sale. Darin was auctioneer and the goodies were the perfect toping to our feast of corned beef & cabbage. 41 Brothers enjoyed our speaker who engaged us with a lecture on the enlightenment and how those ideals were exemplified in Masonry. And I hope you enjoyed the Grandmaster’s official visit to the district.
We will be conferring 3 EA’s on March 25th and two 3rd degrees are coming up so you should be brushing up on your parts and getting ready to start coaching and mentoring. I am encouraged by all the Masonic energy that is flowing through the lodge. I hope you all are enjoying it as much as I am.
This month we will be joined by R.W.B. David Owen, Grand Secretary of the MWGL of Free and Accepted Masons of Washington who will be sharing his knowledge and insight on Section 17.12 of the Washington Masonic Code, which is, of course, the jurisdictions Life Membership Plans. This is a topic of some confusion and I have asked him to focus specifically on how the program actually works and how it can be used to strengthen the long term financial health of the lodge. I have also asked him to be prepared for Q&A. Brethren, this is your opportunity to hear first hand from one of the principle operators of this program how it really works and how you can use it for the long term benefit of the lodge. This is not an opportunity you want to pass up.
Finally Brothers, I have some very sad news to share. In March I attended memorial ceremonies for Bill Yaguchi’s wife Dorothy and for WB Ron Green. Both were active members of the Masonic family and pillars in their local communities. They will be missed and our thoughts are with their families.
This month’s focus on youth is Rainbow Assembly #47.
The theme for this month’s meeting is planning for the future.
Fraternally,
Richard Beers, Worshipful Master

Greetings from the West,
Brethren, it is a pleasure to pay wages to all the brethren who came out on our Fill the Lodge night in March to hear a presentation given by Prof. Williams Kangas, Ph.D., on the history of fraternalism and Masonry’s place in the history of the Enlightment. I look forward to seeing you in April as we prepare for the future including planning for remodeling key areas throughout the lodge for which your input is greatly appreciated. If you have not contacted the Temple Board to share your ideas through our survey, please call Bro. Dale Miller at 425-766-3476 and he will mail or email you a copy of the survey.

Chris Haynes, Senior Warden
